AQUA Emporio

Aqua Bar, Torremolinos I regret giving this place a second chance. Initially, I walked in and up to the bar only to be ignored by the barman. I stood alone – there was no one else seeking service. Then, a young man arrived and was served immediately. I am of the baby-boomer generation, my youth is behind me; I have had my time. I walked away. I explored the facilities and intended to leave. I decided to give the bartender a second chance. Unfortunately, this time I was served. €6 a pint! Torremolinos has many virtues, but Madrid or Barcelona it is not. I made the pint last two hours – I am stubborn like that. Whilst allowing time to pass I jigged away in my own little world. The bar is like an Apple Store, sterile, otherworldly – without life. However, two beautiful Danish sisters approached me; they commented on my gorgeous aura. This happens to me. I don’t think it is my aura; it is, I imagine because I can dance. They wanted me to dance with them for the whole evening, they said, come with us (a group of six or so equally lovely young women). This is how I found myself, an aging gay man, queuing with a group of beautiful women to enter the Aqua Nightclub. Then, my group of, I suspect, beautiful straight women were ushered by the Club to skip the queue to this supposably gay venue and enter immediately and so my new-found Danish friends waved me goodbye and left the gay man they had invited to join them standing alone in a queue: ‘See you inside’, one of the sisters said, as she walked away. I did the same: I walked away.

We came to this popular place in the gay scene in Torremolinos to just find out is a fetish club, the dark room is bigger than the dance floor, the house music is the worst I’ve ever heatd.

Good if you’re looking for a dark room full of gay bears.

Had a great time in September on holiday. Loved the dark room and the guys. Can't wait till next year.

The place is not bad, they've got a terrace and a disco with a huge darkroom, but it's not my cup of tea. It's like a sauna, bears naked and sweated. Each to their own, good for cruising.

Aqua club / bar We stopped off at the bar for a drink but ended up going into the club. Really good mix of music !!
